The painting depicts a woman and a child walking on a path through the woods and trees by a stream. The painting is antique. The painting is titled by the artist on the back side of the canvas: Close of Day. The painting is painted on a canvas from Winsor & Newton's of London, England (the painting may be English in origin - or simply the canvas supplier was English). The painting is not signed by the artist, but there is some writing on the stretcher (see photos). The painting is painted on canvas. The painting is framed in a wood and gesso Art Nouveau style picture frame (view photos). The item is from an estate liquidation (see photos). This painting measures in total framed about 12+ inches high and it is about 22+ inches wide. The painting portion without the picture frame measures about 9 inches high and it is about 19 inches wide. The picture frame has been painted gold, it has some gesso losses, scuffs and some wear. The painting has some minimal wear (see photos and / or written description for the condition of this item).
