Description: ARTIST: Ingeborg Benthine DeBois is a well-listed Danish artist, whose works have been sold at auctions multiple times. She specializes in still-life scenes with flowers and interiors. PAINTING: Oil on canvas. The painting is a beautiful rendering of a rustic living-room interior with dark, massive oak tree furniture and flowers adorning both the window ledge, dresser and table. To the left is an old heating stove and copper utensils. The focal point of the painting, however, are those completely irresistible red curtains, and the wonderful way in which the light coming from the window is depicted. On the back of the frame is a small sticker with an address and a phone number with only 3 digits, as well as a typewritten note with further information about the artist. These notes, combined with the style of the interior, makes me think, that the painting is from somewhere between 1930-1950. Signed: “I. Debois” in the lower right corner. SIZE: With frame: 78 cm/30.7" * 68 cm/26.8". Without frame: 64 cm/25.2" * 54 cm/21.3". CONDITION: The painting is in great ready-to-hang condition - no holes, tears or missing paint. The frame has scratches and stains.
