The 7 Way switch can mix the neck pickup into the bridge switch position or output the three pickups simultaneously to create a bell-like Strat sound. It maintains all of the normal Stratocaster'・s 5Way sound 1Vol and 2Tone controls and the switch that raises the second tone control allows you to mix the neck pickup into the first three positions of the selector: Middle/Middle+Bridge/Bridge. When building a Stratocaster that combines a single coil and a humbucker the resistance of the volume control is a headache. Should you make it 500kΩ for the humbucker or keep it at 250kΩ for the single coil CUSTOM HSS / HSH FOR STRAT GEN2 '・7 Way'・ allows you to switch between these depending on the switch position. The impedance is 500kΩ in the humbucker position and 250kΩ in the single coil position allowing you to always control the volume ideally. The three knobs are the master volume neck middle tone controls and bridge tone controls. In addition in the half tone position including the humbucker of the 5-way switch the humbucker becomes a split coil (coil tap) and is mixed with the middle. This allows you to create the traditional half tone of the Stratocaster.
