Six finely detailed crystal skulls are gathered together to surround a central mass of fossil coral. Through a combination of permineralization and replacement, the structure and pattern showing the growth process of the coral skeleton has been preserved by deposited microscopic, or cryptocrystalline, quartz crystals, commonly known as agate.
