The lack of a UPC barcode likely makes this from the 1980s. It was in storage in a cardboard box and has not seen the light of day in over 3 decades! There's a few small rust spots on the blade, likely from humidity from storage over the years....nothing that would affect function. Most of that will clean up with WD-40 and some high-quality wax will keep it looking good for many years to come. This is a higher grade of scratch awl, comparable to the Stanley 69-007Hardwood HandleForged Blade goes all the way up to the top of the handle (see pic 5)Blade is thicker and the ferrule at the base of the handle is beefier compared to basic awls.Proudly Made in the USA!
