Product Description: This offering is for a new-old-stock Gipiemme seatpost with milled (shallow) sections often referred to as flutes and a shiny (polished) silver finish. Some of it's more prominent design features and specs include the following... Size: 26.6 mm (post/pillar diameter) Total length: 215 mm (measured from the middle of the saddle clamp to the bottom of the pillar) Usable length (max): 155 mm (measured from the middle of the saddle clamp to the limit line) Off set: 25 mm (horizontal distance from the center of the post/pillar to the center of the saddle clamp bolt) Weight: 235 grams (per our digital postal scale) Other notes: The post/pillar and nearly all the saddle clamp parts are made from an aluminum alloy. The saddle clamp bolt and washer are made from a chromoly steel. We originally purchased a few samples of these seatposts and although the cosmetic condition was not always as nice as we had hoped (as the original "samples" were not retail boxed), they were well received by customers, so we purchased the remaining stocks from a European wholesaler. We particularly like the traditional styling and shiny (polished) silver finish that covers most of the pillar. We also like the engraved "Gipiemme" logo on the frontside of the pillar. It's a nice, albeit understated, touch to this classic looking seatpost. As we have noted in other Gipiemme seatpost listings, many of the units were bulk packed in boxes of 20 with individual slots cut out in the box for each post to stand in an upright position (and free from contact from other seatposts). Although, that is not the case here, as we were able to acquire some of these seatposts in their original retail packaging. This offering is for one of those Gipiemme seatposts (in it's original cardboard box). Although, as we inspect each of these shiny silver seatpost in their original retail packaging, we are noting a difference in cosmetic condition. Simply put, some show more shopwear (scuffs and scratches) on the shiny/polished silver finish, while others are relatively clean and in nicer cosmetic condition. This particular offering is for the former, so one of the more shopworn units that does not show quite as nice. I can also confirm the pictures have been updated to better illustrate the visible scuffs and scratches. So the seatpost pictured here is the actual unit that will sell/ship. Finally, the price has been discounted from our cosmetically nicer offerings to reflect this shopwear. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case. Note to international customers regarding customs... We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale.
