Western Electric used a great deal of 6J7/6SJ7 tubes in its design. To reduce gains in the circuit, then triode connection was often used in WE equipment. 6C5 is 6J7/6SJ7 in triode connection. The mil grade 6C5 is the rigid version. Popular during WWII and post WWII equipment in addition to Western Electric pre amplifier and amplifiers. It has the same pin orientation as 6J5 tube and work under the same plate voltage, filament voltage and loading impedance. On the paper, it could replace a 6j5, it may have a different sound, just like swap the same tube model in different brands. These for sale 6C5 tubes represent the best of the production. Price is very reasonable if compared to NOS 6SN7. No returns. All tubes have been tested working.
