Description: First (U.S.) edition hardcover copy of Waiting in the Wings, by Noel Coward (Doubleday, 1960). Noel Coward's fiftieth published play, Waiting in the Wings is set in a retirement home for former actresses. The plot revolves a feud between two of the residents, both of whom had been in love with the same man decades earlier. The play premiered in the West End in September 1960 and was generally considered a flop. However, a Broadway revival of the play in 1999 was much more successful, earning Rosemary Harris a Tony nomination for Best Actress. Even though it's one of Coward's late plays, his trademark style and wit are still apparent in this charming text. This book is in very good condition, with an intact dustcover and no rips, tears, marks, or other major signs of wear.
