Nintendo Power Strategy Guides (Pick And Choose!)

Description: Selling off my collection of older Nintendo Power supplements & player's guides. These were supplemental items either inside, in replacement of, or alongside the monthly magazine subscription, and along with the description of each titles' condition I've also tried to include a bit of background information about each title (when I could find it)! The smaller books (Super Mario Bros. 2 Inside Out (parts1 & 2), Dragon Warrior Strategy Guide, Pak Source, and Classified Information) were included inside some of the earliest volumes of Nintendo Power Magazine (Volumes 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12, respectively). I mean literally inside; removing them required carefully bending the staples of the magazine to get them free! The Player's Guides (Top Secret Passwords, Mario Mania, NES Game Atlas, Super NES Player's Guide, and Super Gameboy) were stand-alone items published by Nintendo Power. The Ninja Gaiden 2 Strategy Guide has its own background, mentioned below. Please carefully review the descriptions and photos before placing an order. These are 30+ year old guide books (several of them were published closer to 35 years ago!) and all of show at least some signs of their age. I did my best to capture and note any damage or wear and tear that I saw (and the photos honestly make many of them look worse than they really do in person) but I'm human and mistakes happen. I will absolutely work with you to make it right! ----- Details (and history!) for each title -----Mario Bros 2 Inside Out, Part 1 & 2 🔺 Fair condition 📖 Published between July & October, 1989 Originally included inside Nintendo Power Volume 7 (part 1) & Volume 8 (part 2)🔎 Creasing on cover and back, typical shelf wear, no obvious marks or writing. Small tear at the bottom of one page in Part 2 (see photos)Dragon Warrior Strategy Guide 🔺 Fair - Poor condition📖 Published November/December, 1989 Originally included inside Nintendo Power Volume 9🔎 Creasing on cover and back, shelf wear on corners. Some loose pages and one small tear at the top of one page. No obvious pencil marks or other writing.Pak Source 🔺 Fair - Poor condition 📖 Published March/April, 1990Originally included inside Nintendo Power Volume 11🔎 Clearly worn, with creasing on cover and pages. Small amount of pencil on a few pages, and what looks to be a small green marker leak at the very top of several pages as well (see photos). Classified Information 🔺 Fair condition 📖 Published May/June, 1990 Originally included inside Nintendo Power Volume 12🔎 Creasing on cover and back, shelf wear on corners. Small amount of pencil inside, but overall relatively clean for 30+ year old book!Ninja Gaiden 2 Strategy Guide (with poster!) 🔺 Fair - Poor condition 📖 Published August, 1990 This was actually Nintendo Power Volume 15, and replaced their normal format of articles, interviews, etc to focus exclusively on a single game. The spine label reads "SG2 / NP15", meaning 'Strategy Guide 2 / Nintendo Power Volume 15' (the first strategy guide they released this way was Nintendo Power Volume 13 in June of 1990, which covered Super Mario Bros. 3)🔎 Heavy creasing on cover, with tears at top of spine (see photos). Cover is also slightly loose at top. Obvious shelf wear at bottom right corner. Poster is included and clean. Small amount of pencil writing on <5 pages, everything else looks clean with light or no signs of wear. NES Game Atlas🔺 Fair - Poor condition 📖 Published Spring, 1991 First in the Player's Guide series. Includes a photo of Link from The Legend of Zelda series that looks like it might have actually been produced for the animated TV show from the late 80's. It looks wildly different from what we're used to seeing today, and is worth checking out for that photo alone! 🔎 Heavier creasing on cover, part of the spine is separating from the cover as well (see photos). A few slightly loose pages early into the guide, otherwise all pages appear tight and complete. Pages show signs of being read often. Some very minor staining, especially on back cover (nothing remotely close to text or images)Top Secret Passwords🔺 Acceptable - Fair condition 📖 Published 1992 Fifth in the Player's Guide series.Originally stated to be a subscriber exclusive, but was eventually sold retail as well🔎 Some creasing on cover and back, with a very minor tear at one corner of the back. Some shelf wear and minor pencil marks in pages, but largely clean and complete.Mario Mania Player's Guide🔺 Fair condition 📖 Published August, 1991 Third in the Player's Guide series.Includes roughly 30 pages of history, bios, cameos, etc followed by a full strategy guide for Super Mario World🔎 Some creasing on cover and back, with heavier creasing and small tear on front bottom right corner. Some shelf wear and page curling. Fold-out has a small tear on the middle of the fold on one side and creasing along edges, but remains entirely legible. No obvious marks inside beyond signs of being read often. Super NES Player's Guide🔺 Fair condition 📖 Published 1992 Fourth in the Player's Guide series.🔎 Some creasing on cover and back, with heavier creasing and small tear on front bottom right corner. Slightly loose first page. Very limited pencil marks on inside pages. Signs of being read often, but otherwise clean & complete. Super Gameboy🔺 Acceptable - Good condition 📖 Published 1994 After Top Secret Passwords was published, Nintendo Power switched to publishing Player's Guides focused on a single title. This was one of the early guides during that time, and published around the same time as the Super GameBoy was released. 🔎 Very clean, limited shelf wear or creasing, very small nick at bottom of spine, pages clean and unmarked.
