Description: Nikon F Waist Level Finder - for F/F2 Up for bids is this vintage Type 1B Nikon F waist level finder; originally developed for the Nikon F at the beginning of the 60s. The Type 1B features Nikon's original logo (Nippon Kogaku Tokyo) on the head of the finder. It is also featured on the custom cloth that wraps around the finder to protect it. Nikon F is embossed on the rear of the finder. The original box and manual are also included. The waist level finder fits on any late model F or any F2 body to allow direct viewing of focusing screen. A flip-up magnifier is built-in and gives a magnified view of the image on the focusing screen. The metal hood can be raised up when the catch button is pressed to release. The flip-up magnifier is released by another catch inside. The magnifier in this case, helps to provide pin point precise focusing of images projected through the lens on the focusing screen. This viewfinder provide convenient working comfort in special situations such as working the camera at ground level or at the extended height of copy stand.As you can tell from the photos, the finder itself is in excellent cosmetic condition; having seen very little use.
