The halogen bulb lights up, and light intensity is adjustable throughout the full range of the light dimmer knob.A sub-stage condenser is not included, but the condenser carrier height adjustment knob has been confirmed to properly raise and lower a condenser when installedWhile this listing does not include a condenser or objective lenses, the microscope has been fully tested with objectives and a condenser (borrowed from another Nikon microscope) to ensure the system will yield good optical performance with whichever condenser and objectives you choose to install.Cosmetically, the microscope shows some typical signs of use that include a few scuffs and scrapes in the paint. These are purely cosmetic and in no way affect the performance of the microscope. The microscope in in very good condition from a mechanical and optical standpoint.
