Gone are the sappy ‘Sister Christian’ ballads and in is a more hard rocking sound. Also, the big keyboard sound present on ‘Big Life’ is toned down here. It must be noted that long time keyboardist Alan Fitzgerald was no longer in the band being replaced by Jesse Bradman which opened the gap for more of the prominent twin guitar attack of Jeff Watson & Brad Gillis. Man In Motion was not as big of a hit as ‘Dawn Patrol’ and ‘Midnight Madness.’ The first single off the album was ‘I Did It for Love’, which topped out on the Billboard Top 100 at 75. The second single ‘Reason to Be" reached position 48 in 1989 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.
