Very clear image. Nice braided hair/hat, and other great fashion items. Simple brass mat type as shown, typical of the decade prior to1860. VERY NICE AND UNUSUAL SOFT VELVET PLUSH SIDE!!! This has great, mid-1800's subject matter and is a young woman. Nice half view seated antebellum pose and appearance. She HAS A VERY INTERESTING POSE, ALMOST LIKE A MONA LISA FACIAL EXPRESSION AND SMILE. Particularly nice as SHE IS WEARING A RING AND A VERY FANCY LARGE NECKLACE. Jewelry has also been touched up to give it a gilted appearance!!! Mounted in an early plate brass mat, set in its original complete nice gutta percha hard rubber case. ALWAYS PARTICULARLY NICE IN THESE CASES. In excellent condition. STILL THE ORIGINAL CASE THAT THE PHOTO HAS BEEN IN FOR 165 LONG YEARS!!! THIS IS A VERY INTERESTING, GREAT EARLY EARLY AMBRO!!
