The tuning is in Western A This flute is deep, flexible, dynamic and friendly for any average player (however the player must have longer arms and medium to large sized hands). Its a beautiful piece of bamboo with nice skin markings. I fine-tuned the finger holes and parts of the bore for easier playing and more dynamic response.The instrument now moves across octaves with relative ease and accuracy going from a deep velvety whisper to a vibratory organic scream. It's now easy for any player. It has wabi sabi beauty in its sound, visually and spirit. The utaguchi was cut between the nodes as opposed to the end so it's now offered below the market value for an instrument of this quality in playability. Comes with the full care kit (color of bag may be different according to what I have in stock) and 100% technical support should the instrument ever need servicing. This means domestic shipping to me as opposed to Japan where shipping costs, insurance and tax will cost more than a repair. As with all my instruments, this one comes with an audition period and full refund or exchange if it’s not a good fit.
