Description: NEWPORT JAZZ FESTIVAL Description Scarce and highly collectible large original first printing concert handbill advertising the Newport Jazz Festival staged at the Majestic in Antwerp [Belgium] on Thursday, 29th October, 1959. Produced and presented by George Wein and Willis Conover, the performing artists included the Dizzy Gillespie Quintet, the Buck Clayton All Stars, and Jimmy Rushing. The handbill measures 25.8 x 17.9 cm (approx. 10.2" by 7" inches) and is beautifully printed in orange and dark blue inks on thin, dull-coated paper stock (coated on front only).
