Description: Pretty rare mechanical keyboard made in or around 1994. Have a couple of these all in new identical condition, condition of outer box will vary a bit. All boxed, all still in factory plastic bags, all with clear hard plastic keyboard dust shields. The attached cords are in their own bags and have never been uncoiled from packaging. The key switches are all marked Alps and are early versions. Definitely not clones or reproductions. Model No. KB0721. Made in Taiwan. Box states "For 80386, 80486, & 80586 Compatible. Enhanced Keyboard. F.C.C. Approved" Bar code is 48721. Serial number sticker on box matches serial number on back of keyboard. This identical keyboard and near identical ones were sold with other brand names including Chicony, Addison, Ergo, Micro Innovations, and others- although I can't say what kind of keyswitches those brands came with. Looking up "LIAKB-7000" comes up with "Unikey Electronics Co Ltd KB-7000 No 25, Wu-Gong 6th Road, Wu-Ku Industrial Park, Taipei Hsien, Taiwan, 1994-06-20" Keyboard construction is high quality, not lightweight- weigh right around 3.5 pounds. Dead mint condition with no yellowing or discoloration as sometimes happens with vintage computer plastics. The coiled cable is wrapped in it's own plastic bag. The plug is the old style 5 pin AT, will work with PS/2 computer with inexpensive adapter. I think you can also then use a PS/2 to USB adapter but have not tried it so can't say for sure. I tested each and every key on these keyboards with one of my 486 systems. All work perfectly. VERY nice tactile feel when typing, classic Alps "click" with every keystroke. Often imitated, never quite duplicated. If you wanted to remove the switches and use in a different keyboard my understanding is that it's not difficult to desolder them. Each should have just two pins attaching it to the circuit board. And they would be NEW and UNUSED vintage Alps white switches. ----------------------------------------------------------------Shipping only in the United States.
