Description: Up for auction is an old railroad hat badge from the New York New Haven & Hartford Railroad. The metal style cap badge is marked on the front side “N.Y.,N.H.&H. R.R.", with the occupation of “Baggageman". The badge measures 4 1/8" x 1 1/8” and is in very nice condition, with all of the black enamel intact. The Baggageman occupation was for the individual who worked as an attendant for collecting and tracking passengers' baggage in the baggage car on the road's passenger service.
