Description: This is my first printing of the New X-Men omnibus (ISBN 0785123261), which was published by Marvel Comics in 2006 and collects New X-Men issues 114 to 154, together with the 2001 New X-Men annual. I'll dispatch this with Royal Mail Tracked 48 in the UK and just let me know if you have any questions about either the listing or the item. The issues were originally published between 2001 and 2004 and written by Grant Morrison, with art by Frank Quitely, Igor Kordey, John Paul Leon, Phil Jiminez, Ethan van Sciver, Chris Bachalo, Leinil Francis Yu and Marc Silvestri. They feature the first appearances of X-Men characters including Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Quentin Quire, Beak, Angel Salvatore and Xorn. I was given it as a Christmas present in 2006 and the book and its contents are in very good condition – the binding is tight, the spine is intact and the pages, covers and endpapers are clean and bright throughout. There is a little damage to the dust jacket –there's a tear in the top left-hand corner of the front flap and I've included close-up photos of the front and reverse. In this collection, Morrison asks the question are mutants humans' evolutionary successor, rather than a genetic aberration? The themes throughout are evolution and revolution: Jean Grey succeeding Charles Xavier as head of the school; the Wild Sentinels as the next iteration of the Sentinels; the emergence of secondary mutations. Morrison's run came a year after the release of the first X-Men film in 2000 and, while not as fundamental a reinvention as his work on Animal Man and Doom Patrol at DC in the 1980s, he was able to revitalise the title with his trademark style at a point when mainstream audiences were encountering the characters for the first time.
