Description: This is a beautiful, Whitesville (Japan) hooded varsity style hooded jacket in the same style as Real McCoys and other high end Japanese made heavy wool letterman jackets that are patterned after vintage American athletic gear from the 50's and 60's. What makes this particular jacket so unique and rare compared to other Japanese varsity wool letterman jackets is the generous wool hood which is lined with light brown corduroy. The jacket closes via period correct, heavy duty metal snaps and the front slash pockets are outlined with darted, genuine cowhide leather details. The original tag is still attached indicating this is style no. WV14646 in gold wool (color reference no. "156 gld") size large 42" chest. The original price tag states the retail on this jacket was $675.00. The offering price is almost half that. This jacket is brand new, never worn. Please note that although the jacket is marked "Size 42", the pit to pit measurement is larger than that at about 27" - it's a bit oversized because it is modeled after the sideline football style athletic warm-up jackets from the 50's and 60's which were designed to be on the large size. (see all the pics for measurement sizing). A gorgeous, heavy duty high quality jacket that is no longer made, long out of print, and now impossible to find. Black and cream striped details around the cuffs and waist. Perfect condition. Please be aware that this is a very hefty jacket for shipping purposes and requires a large box to ship.
