Water expands into the bladder, while air pre-charge is on the shell side. ***NOTE***Brand new unit just in from freight company. Metal base/stand is bent. It does not effect the ability of the unit to stand properly. It's cosmetic. Skilled hands with a hammer can pound it out. See last photo.
