INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING THE ALTO VELVET DRIVE HIGH PERFORMANCE OIL PUMP IMPORTANTDo not flip (turn) the pump gears over. This is a High Performance Oil Pump and the pump gears must remain in the same direction in the pump as when you received it. The outer pump gear (larger of the two gears) has a small bevel on one outside edge. The side with the bevel must face downward when inserting the gear into the pocket. If you insert the large gear into the pocket with the sharp side down the pump WILL jam and cut into the bottom of the pump housing. You are now the proud owner of 5 pounds of scrap iron and have voided your warranty. INSTALLATIONTake the small gear out of the pump housing and lube it with transmission fluid. Put the small gear on the shaft making certain that the key is on and also that the part number 3-61 O-ring is on the adapter housing.Next lubricate the large pump gear with transmission fluid but do NOT remove it from the housing.Install the pump onto the transmission.
