Description: Documents of the 110th Legislature of the State of New Jersey Vol. III - Documents 24-44. Published in 1886 by Courier Publishing Association in Camden, N.J., this is a massive volume which is over four inches thick. Its pages measure 6x9 inches in size, and the book is over 1,600 pages long. Its covers have a thin leather surface that shows some wear and scuffing, and is missing a bit at the top of its spine (see photos), and its binding is weak, due to how heavy the book is, so that the covers are likely to become detached at some point if it is read a lot. Nonetheless, the interior is in excellent condition, and overall the volume is still in good shape for such a fragile antique item. The book compiles 20 different official documents from New Jersey state government, covering affairs in 1884-1885. More than 400 pages are devoted to rather boring matters related to insurance companies in the state, and there are some short chapters on legal cases, etc., but it also consists of some very detailed studies of historical interest, on subjects such as: Doc. 24 - Report on Factories, Workshops & Labor Laws of N.J. - 166 pages Doc. 26 - Report of Board of Pilotage - 7p. (preceded by two foldout maps, which each have a tear, so I only partly unfolded one in the accompanying photo) Doc. 27 - Report of New Jersey State Prison - 47 p., with one illustrated plate Doc. 28 - Report of State Geologist for 1885 (including mines & beaches) - 217 p., with one foldout map Doc. 29 - Report of Board of Health, including Vital Statistics - 430 p. Doc. 34 - Report of Fisheries -44 p. _gsrx_vers_1680 (GS 9.8.3 (1680))
