Description: This is for a lovely Antique New England Glass NEGC / Boston Sandwich Faceted Scramble Paperweight. These antique Scramble paperweights were made by both the New England Glass Company and the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company. Sometimes we think that The New England Glass Company weights included mostly millefiori canes while the Sandwich weights had more twists, but that may or may not be true, so the "American" attribution is often the safest. They were made by all of the major paperweight factories working in the 1800s.The design gets its name from the jumble of whole and partial millefiori canes that are gathered within the weight. Some historians felt that perhaps these were made with whatever canes happened to be left over at the end of the work day, hence the "End of Day" name. This antique "Scramble" weight has whole and pieces of millefiori canes including some collared canes. 5-1 Faceting Measures: 2.7" Wide x 2" Tall Overall Good Condition. No cracks. Small Pin Pricks to the Edges of the Facets from normal wear. Display's Fantastic See Photo’s for Complete Description and Condition. Would make a great addition to any collection.
