Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Up for auction is this New Brighton, Pennsylvania, Charter #4549, $10.00 1929 Type-1 Small Size. Fr. #1801-1, with treasury signatures of Edward E. Jones as Register of the Treasury and Walter O. Woods as Treasurer of The United States. The cashier of this bank is J.D. Brubaker and the President of the bank is John D. Bruhn. This bank chartered in 1891, taking the name, “The Union National Bank of New Brighton, Pennsylvania”. This bank issued 31,285 small size Nationals, from 1929 thru July of 1935 when the note issuing period ended. The note has four full margins, but starts to get close at the bottom margin to the right. This note is dirty and limp from year of being in circulation. I see 9 pinholes 5 of which are in or close to the brown seal, and I do see a 1/8 inch split in the top margin of the note, that just barely touches the printed design. Neither the pinholes or the tiny split really detract from this note. I grade this note as a solid Very Good, but you look at the scans and judge for yourself. The Kelly Census shows 34 small size notes reported on the bank, 17 of these notes are $10.00 Type 1’s, 3 are $10.00 Type -2’s, 12 are $20.00 Type-1’s and 2 are $20.00 Type-2’s. This note is new to the census, so the new owner can report this note if they so choose. This note would make a fine addition to any Pennsylvania State banknote collection. The bank was located in Beaver County. This note should appeal to those collecting that County and its surrounding areas.
