The brewer is made from Tritan, a BPA-free plastic that wont hold onto stale flavors. And the double-walled, copper-insulated carafe is detachable, so you can take your joe to goor store it and keep it cold for up to 24 hours. DO NOT USE WITH DRIP GRIND COFFEE. COFFEE MUST BE COARSE GRIND. Instructions: Each brew makes 24 oz of coffee concentrate. 4 to 6 Tablespoons of coarse coffee grounds (depending on your coffee strength preference) and 3 Cups of cold filtered water are required for brewing. Open the lid of the clear brewer leaving the mesh filter inside. Put 2 Tablespoons or 1/3 (if you made a weaker brew) of ground coffee in the filter and slowly pour 1 Cup of water over the grounds in a circular motion, wetting all the grounds. Repeat this process twice with the remaining coffee grounds and water. Tightly close the lid of the brewer. Give the unit a gentle shake to settle the grounds. Close the air hole with the sliding tab in the lid. Steep coffee 12-24 hours (you may want to taste your brew at 12 hours to see how much stronger you would like it) at room temperature. When brewing is complete, open the tab on the lid and press the flow release button on the front to transfer the desired amount of concentrated coffee into the attached carafe. Unscrew carafe and, if filled completely, add desired cream, flavorings or sweeteners and fill with ice cubes to cool. If you only transfer a single serving, prepare as desired and add ice to cool. Screw on stainless steel carafe lid and go!
