Description: 1960s Nanaola Model 6TP- 107 Six Transistor Radio Up for auction rare Nanaola six transistor radio in two-tone red and white. Radio was manufactured in Tokyo Japan by Nanao Radio Company / NRC. Radio’s mid-century design is great, deep red plastic body tapers slightly from 2 ¼ inches on the bottom to 2 ½ inches wider at the top, trapezoid shapes of the dial plate and speaker grill balance each other beautifully. White reverse painted dial plate stands out framing an oversized tuning dial with silver numerals, triangle trim and line pointer. Metal speaker grill appears louvered with strategically placed vertical line perforations and sparkles with the light. Radio still has its black painted metal NRC badge on the lower right corner. This is a stand out radio that would make a great addition to any collection. Radio is display ready and comes with its original Leather case.Measures approximately 4 1/4” x 2 3/4“x 1 1/4“ CONDITIONRadio turns on with a 9-volt battery tuning into some stations with mid volume and some squealing when the volume knob is turned all the way. This radio has been well cared for; two-tone plastic cabinet is bright with a beautiful sheen. There is a small chip next to the earphone jack on the top, and an easy to miss, tight hairline on the bottom right corner, not visible from the front (last 2 photos show these details).This rare radio displays nicely.
