Description: Two maps - first is "Mitchell's National Map of the American Republic" dated 1843, second is "A Concise View of the Number, Resources, and Industry of the American People, in the Year 1840." Published by S. Augustus Mitchell. Each map is complete and appx. 34" X 25" in size. Considering age, and despite separation at the fold seams, these maps are in very good condition. There is very little fading and only minor chipping; colors retain there original vibrancy. Seam separation has occurred at several folds that can be seen with a close examination of the photos. Restoration will require reattachment with archival tape or other similar professional method. Once made whole and framed, these maps can form the centerpieces of similar art, and will no doubt make an overwhelmingly positive impression on any viewer. Shipping cost includes insurance.
