Description: Beautiful Miniature Portrait of a young lady, wearing a cross medal on her forehead and dressed in an 18th century dress.There is a strong similarity with a portrait of the Swedish Noble woman Catherine Charlotte De La Gardie born Taube (1723-1763) by the Swedish artist Olof Arenius.On the back it is ascribed to be a painting of the Duchesse of Lange(ais), from a novel by Balzac. The name of the artist is illegible. But we believe this to be a copy of the above mentioned painting.Measurements of the miniature painting are: 3 1/8 inches high - 2 3/8 inches wide. In a nice original frame from the 19th century.
