This model, K8045, first appeared in Keeler's catalog published in 1900 (see photos). Ahead of the trend, Keeler Brass Co. revolutionized furniture hardware and continued to produce quality hardware by innovative production processes until their eventual decline. Recently the brand was resurrected as a boutique hardware manufacturing firm boasting made in the USA only, in-house produced designer pieces. Although these particular pulls obviously weren't produced in 1900 with their phillips-style mounting screws, we now know the design itself is at least freom 1900 if not earlier. Anyone viewing our other listings knows that we are big fans of Keeler Brass Co. and recognize their mammoth contribution to American vintage and antique furniture hardware history. Despite learning that these pulls with their clean lines were actually designed as early as 1900 or earlier, it came as no surprise that Keeler designed a pull that embodies so many aspects of MCM design a half century before the trend became a mainstay of American design.
