ITEM DESCRIPTION: Here is an Absolutely Beautiful Limited Edition Signed & Numbered Colored Etching titled, "From the Vine...", by the listed Jacksonville, FL artist & etcher, ‘Michael G. Bush’ (American, b. June 5, 1963-), whose hand signed in pencil signature appears lower right under embossed plate mark. Brief Artist Bio: Michael Gayle Bush (American, 1963- ) commercial artist, painter, muralist, etcher, printer and sculptor, primarily known for his color etchings, paintings, pastels, colored pencil drawings, tapestries and sculpture. Michael was born on June 5, 1963 in Lubbock, TX and initially studied art under Mary Eissinger while at the Dunbar High School in Lubbock, TX and later studied art under longtime Professor or Art, Terry Morrow of the Fine Arts Department at Texas Tech University (retired), Lubbock, TX. After graduation, Michael moved to Dallas, TX and worked as a freelance artist where he explored various mediums and became interested in architectural landscaping as well as interior design. He later moved to the northwest, residing in Anacortes, WA and also Arlington, WA, where he began working as a printer for Black Raven Press, a division of Island International Artists (I.I.A.) located in the beautiful San Juan Islands of Washington State. The I.I.A. are wholesale agents and distributors of contemporary fine art for professional printmakers, graphic artists and painters and many of Michael’s etchings were sold through them during his time there, sometimes in series. Michael proudly stated about his time there that he felt, “fortunate to be a part of island life, and a part of the island International family.” Michael’s works are greatly influenced by the time he spent growing up in the southwest, and his interest in flowers, birds and antiques, have directly impacted his style over the years. Foliage, flowers, fruit, birds, kitchenware, herbs and other household items are common in many of his etching compositions as well as classical architectural elements of archways and columns combined with his sense of light and deep rich colors, add a unique touch of style and elegance to his contemporary art. Another wonderful aspect of many of his etchings is the use of decorative embossed border areas within the plate margins of the paper, which adds a beautiful and lightly 3-dimensional effect to the overall composition of his etchings without taking away or distracting from the images themselves. His personal adage in life, “Attitude determines altitude,” promised a continuation of a successful career far into the future. Michael eventually left the northwest and briefly moved to Lake Charles, LA, but later settled in Jacksonville, FL where he currently resides as of 2021. (Written, compiled & rewritten in parts by Mark Strong of Meibohm Fine Arts, East Aurora, NY, sources: Our internal records and past email correspondences with the artist; Brief biography of the artist from an online art reference; Texas Tech University; islandinternational page; spokeo page.) Print Info: The title appears written in pencil by the artist lower left under embossed plate mark and the edition was from his c1991 series of etchings featuring 'Currants', 'Grapes', 'Figs' & 'Strawberries'. The Etching is on a nice off-white watercolor stock and has a nice embossed area framing the image and the inks seen to have silver dust mixed in which gives it a nice subtle sparkly effect. The edition number, ‘48/350’, appears written in pencil lower middle under embossed plate mark. Size & Condition: The size with margins is 18-3/8" x 14.75", Image size is 6" x 6". The Etching is in Excellent Rare+ condition with No Color Fade-Gorgeous! No damage at all to this wonderful Etching. Please disregard the faint green digital pattern in the white areas, it's how my camera interprets the white areas for some reason... This rare Limited Edition Signed & Numbered color etching has never been framed, which is always more desirable to collectors since it has never been exposed to older non-archival wood/cardboard backing materials, matburn or lightfade. We have had numerous problems in the past communicating with our eBayers outside of eBay because of it. COLLECTORS & DEALERS: Please DO NOT email us (inside or outside of eBay's email system) with any offers to stop an auction early. It would not be fair to the rest of the eBay Worldwide community if we did that. THE HIGHEST BIDDER -OR- HIGHEST OFFER WINS IT!!!!!
