Description: Please read. TLDR, this box is in pretty good condition, but does have one flaw: This is a Matco 6S Custom tool box (does not come with tools) that I've been refurbishing and intending to sell. They cost quite a lot brand new (as you can see in the last photo), and are normally the sorts of things used in professional auto shops and aircraft hangars. I was going to sell this for more like $7,000 (about $8,000 seems to be a common price for these used after doing some comparisons). However, I've decided to put it up for sale at $5,500 instead because after much troubleshooting, I think there may be a manufacturing defect in the right hand locking mechanism. It jams easily and puts enough pressure on locks to break them after a short number of cycles. I think it's a manufacturing defect because when this toolbox came into my possession 3 years ago, it was almost brand new, and the only thing wrong with it was a broken lock on the right side (It was permanently locked out for that reason too. I had to basically lock pick it to get in)... Now I think the people I got it from wanted to get rid of it because it kept breaking locks and locking them out, and the work center it was from required locked tools for tool accountability. For this reason, I've temporarily (or permanently if you want to leave it like that) disabled the mechanism on the right side so it won't lock you out of the toolbox. The left and center bays lock and unlock just fine, but the right bay does not lock at all, it freely opens and closes. It's still fully usable as solid tool storage, it's more just a security issue for some of the drawers (all the small ones on the right side)... One which a simple part change wont fix (I've tried). You could easily just toss consumables and beater tools in those drawers and call it a day. But if you want to fix it, I have an idea on how to fix it DIY after figuring out the issue. Or, since it seems to be a problem from the factory, Matco might be willing to fix it professionally under warranty... I would try both of these options myself, however, I had always intended on selling the toolbox rather than keeping it, and am frankly just tired of trying to make it perfect.Like I said, it was basically brand new looking when I got it a few years ago. Since then, it's not been used at all as a tool box, since it's been a back burner project of mine to fix it up. the drawers are in excellent condition, basically unused. The body of the tool box however, is a little scuffed up and has a few rust spots, due to going through a big move. I have the part number for Matco black touch up paint if you care about that sort of thing. I also have some spare parts for the tool box that will come with it (I ordered more stuff than I needed when refurbishing it).I would prefer that you sort out your own transportation. But please do not show up in a car, van, or even a 4 foot bed pick up, one buddy, and no ramp, and expect to just manhandle it into the back and drive it home. I dont care how swole you are. One person can roll it on flat ground easily, but it is giant, and it weighs about 1,000 lbs on the dot. I've underestimated how hard it is to truck it around, and multiple moving companies did the same. You will need either a very large truck (I used a 2 ton rated flatbed when I last moved it myself), or a trailer, and a ramp. If you are local to Colorado, I can arrange a move for fairly cheap for you. I have a friend here in Colorado who runs a small moving business.
