Description: Vintage early 1970th MARBLE'S KNIVES Woodcraft Hunter-Skinner with a scarce tigerwood handle option; made in the US. The knife is about 8-1/2" / 21.4 cm overall; the blade is about 4-1/2" / 11.5 cm long. Circa 1970 "short" 3-line Marble's / Gladstone / Mich. logo on ricasso. The knife looks unused with original factory but it was probably improperly stored as one side has some light pitting. The edge is very sharp, the tip is intact. Exotic tigerwood handle with colored spacers, bronze half-guard and aluminum pommel with a "small" lug nut. All parts are tight with no play. Original 1960th classic Marble's "Moose & Goose" leather sheath is in excellent condition, considering the age. These vintage Woodcrafts are VERY hard to find in better grades nowadays. This type is hard-to-find this nice; proudly made in Gladstone, Michigan USA. MARBLE'S was one of the best US makers of hunting knives, axes and other outdoor gear since 1898. Marble's Woodcraft was the best Skinner available when it first came out in 1914; since then Woodcraft design was copied under different names countless times all over the world.
