It is stamped by the hilt, "MANSFIELD & LAMB, Forestdale R.I." on one side of the blade and "US J.M. 1864 on the other. It measures approximately 41” from point to pommel. The basket is about 5 inches across. It does not have an edge. It does not appear ever to have been sharpened. It is in rough shape. Most of the finishing has come off. It has a bit of rust.
