Description: Kwende, Pride of Femeref Kwende is a fun commander with the simple yet powerfulability to give double strike to all of your creatures with first strike.Double strike is among the most powerful keywords in magic, so I find it verycool to have a commander centered around it. The deck has a good amount offirst strikers to take advantage of Kwende’s ability. Kwende, having the knightcreature type is relevant, since a lot of white knight cards have first strike,and so the deck was built to with knight synergies in mind. There are a lot ofanthem effects like Circle of Loyalty, Paragon of New Dawns, and BenalishMarshal because buffs work twice as well with double strike. The same goes for abilitiesthat trigger on dealing combat damage, so an anthem effect like ThunderwolfCalvary is that much stronger here. Since buffs are so good, I included aurasand equipment like Loxodon Warhammer and On Serra’s Wings to deal a ton ofextra damage. Some of the knight synergy cards include Valiant Knight,Acclaimed Contender, and Worthy Knight. The win cons are meant to produce bigalpha strikes with cards like For the Emperor!, Jazal Goldmane, and Skyboon Aerialist.Unlike most budget decks, this one has two great tutors in the list. RelicSeeker’s ability to search for an equipment card means it has the flexibilityof finding card draw, evasion, life gain, or even a token maker. Where Thalia’sLancers ability to grab a legendary means it can find one of the best anthemsin Circle of Loyalty or one of the deck’s win cons in Jazal Goldmane.
