From LynnChase.com circa July 2013JAGUAR JUNGLE The boldly beautiful South American rainforest is home to graceful jaguars, exotic flowers and brilliantly colored birds and butterflies. Artist's Note: Before I started Lynn Chase Designs in 1988, I had many successful one-man shows of my wildlife paintings throughout the US & Europe. My first pattern, Jaguar Jungle, was inspired by a painting I had done in 1986. The black background is reminiscent of the dense canopy of the trees in the jungle. and incorporates the wonderful species of South America. As the mother jaguar hunts at night, she places her cubs in the trees to play safely. I had been advised by a marketing firm that black dinnerware would never sell, nor would anyone eat off of a pattern with fur. I, however, thought the pattern was chic and decided to take a chance. Jaguar Jungle won Best Pattern as well as the Impact Award at the International Tabletop Association convention in Dallas in 1991. To this day it still has many passionate collectors, over 20 years later. - Lynn Chase Lynn Chase is a line of tableware items founded by New York-based artist Lynn Chase.
