Description: Lot of 2 Early 1900s Presidential Campaign Reproduction Buttons - William Jennings Bryan & Warren G. Harding This lot includes two vintage reproduction buttons from the Presidential Campaigns of the late 19th century and early 20th century in the United States. One features William Jennings Bryan and the other Warren G. Harding, both prominent candidates of the time. William Jennings Bryan, Democratic Representative from Nebraska for two terms from 1891-1895, rose to prominence and ran for President in 1896, 1900, and 1908. Nominated by both the Democratic Party and the Populist Party, in 1896, at age 36, he became and remains the youngest person in US history to receive an electoral vote. He also won the nomination for the Democratic Party in 1900 and 1908, making him a three-time loser on the national stage. He would later serve under President Wilson as the 41st Secretary of State from 1913-1915. President Warren G. Harding, Republican US Senator from rural Ohio from 1915-1921, secured the Republican nomination and the presidency in 1920. Harding is often argued to be among the worst Presidents in US History due to his corruption and personal scandals, like the Ohio Gang, Teapot Dome, extramarital affair, and reputation as a poor gambler, often losing White House China in poker games. Harding died two and a half months into his presidency and was succeeded by VP Calvin Coolidge. These buttons are a perfect addition to any political or historical memorabilia collection. They are from the early 1900s and represent an important era in American politics. The buttons are in good condition and were not signed by either candidate. Get a piece of history with this lot of two Presidential Campaign buttons.
