Description: 1984 Los Angeles Olympics OUTSTANDING OLYMPIC YOUTH PARTICIPATION medals - Silver - Bronze.Each buy-it-now is for one set of two medals, one silver and one bronze. Set of two medals, one silver and one bronze. The medals were manufactured by the Medallic Art Co. in Danbury, Ct. and this is engraved on the rim of each medal along with the official 1980 L.A. OLYMPIC COMMITTEE stamp. The medals measure 57mm across. These medals were awarded for the Youth Participation programs in 1982 and 1983. When advertising material was starting to be published about the 1984 Olympics, there were no medals available for photographs. These Youth Participation medals were the only medals that existed at the time that had the "Star-In-Motion" logo so the reverse of these medals were actually used in many photographs. I have shown a photo of the "Los Angeles 1984 Official Olympic Guide" that has a picture of one Youth medal on the cover. (This Guide is NOT included in this auction, it is only for information purposes). The medals come in their original cream-colored cardboard boxes. Stored in a non-smoking home.
