Description: "Lolita" by Vladimir Nabokov published by Greenwich House 1982 first edition 1982 hard cover. 317 pages. Dimensions about: 7.3". x 9.8 ". This is the novel that first established Nabokov's reputation with a large audience tour-de-force of comic satire on sex and the American ways of life. Awe and exhilaration--along with heartbreak and mordant wit--abound in Lolita, Nabokov's most famous and controversial novel, which tells the story of the aging Humbert's obsessive, devouring, and doomed passion for the nymphet Dolores Haze. Lolita is also the story of a civilized European colliding with the cheerful barbarism of postwar America. Most of all, it is a meditation on love--love as outrage and hallucination. This best selling book became a blockbuster movie. It inspired the notorious Jeffrey Epstein to name his private jet after this book, Lolita. Selling for over $50.00 on other sites in this condition.
