Due to the summer time temperatures this will increase the chance of pupation. If your larvae do pupate, don't throw them away! They can hatch into flies and this could add an enrichment for your pet to catch them! Don't worry, they're non-invasive and non-vector species. They don't sting or bite and could only live for up to 5-10 days. Your black soldier fly larvae will arrive in a small plastic cup, with an option of bedding. Simply keep them in this container at room temperature, or better yet, in a wine cooler or beverage chiller. Refrigerators are too cold for BSFL, and may end up killing them.
