Description: Listed British Artist William M. Petrie (1870-1937) Pencil Signed, on lower left, this Amazing River/Lake Landscape. It is an Original Watercolor on paper, circa 1900's. Depicted is a large boulder, at right, sitting by the water which reflects it. Peeking beneath the tree canopy, the sun illuminates the greenery all around. Powerful piece, densely detailed and colored and quite dynamic. The signature is partially hidden by the mat and is difficult to make out (due to shiny pencil) but we guarantee the signature and the piece!1/2" Wide, Gold wood moulding with delicate hand-carving and chisel work, a mat and glazing, are included in this listing. We believe the framing is original to the piece - Scottish framemakers label on reverse.Image measures approx. 8 1/2 X 11 and is in Very Good to Excellent Antique condition.There are minor flecks of dirt on the mat.Outside measure of the frame is 12 3/4 X 15 3/4 and is in Good Antique condition.
