Description: Lionel 1654 Cab & Boiler SHELL, some Details, NOS, VG+, needs cleaning Yes, the item condition says 'NEW', but the Grading indicates "Very Good". This IS an NOS (New Old Stock) piece...never sold, never assembled...but has had some 'transfer' of white paint from some source, and is dirty and nicked (a little). The rear support HAS NOT been attached (swaged) and will need to be added. As you can see: The whistle and bell were installed...and maybe ONE handrail cotter-pin? That's it. This is the FIRST diecast Scout-type loco released by Lionel after WWII! It was built from 1946 thru 1947, then replaced by the 1655 (which I will list shortly.) Lettering on the cab is clear on both sides: '1654'. Why haven't you purchased this yet???
