Description: Coming Out Photographs of Gay Liberation and the New York Waterfront by Leonard Fink. Published in 2014 by Edition Clandestin. 219 pages of black and white photographs many showing nudity and sexual activity. I choose only PG photos for this listing! Pages are in excellent condition though cover has light wear (faint scratches and a surface tear that does not affect the binding). See pictures! ".... Amateur photographer Leonard Fink lived and worked in New York City, documenting over 25 years of its gay life, including pride parades, bars, and especially the decaying architecture of the West Side piers, which served as a space for gay men to interact socially and sexually. From the mid-1970s onwards, Fink captured this time of empowerment, cruising, sexual freedom, and openness and experimentation, and his large collection of photographs has proven to be a significant and engaging visual record of the citys gay subculture before the rise of HIV/AIDS would forever change it. This publication marks the first time Finks images have come together as a group." One of my favorite photography books for the lost world it documents and reveals. Mr. Fink was a randy fellow and a talented shutterbug. Note the book is quite heavy. It weighs close to five pounds!
