Description: 2024 sure seems to be the year of the voodoo items on ebay... i've decided to part ways with one of my voodoo items really just because i want to get my family something special. nobody else here likes old computers like i do, haha. if you're even a little bit into computer collecting, chances are you have heard of VoodooPC, and know them for their rolls-royce levels of pc luxury and paintjobs. for many, this is the chance they've been looking for for years; the opportunity to nab up one of the internet's most legendary beasts. take a very good look at the pictures, they show all the book pages and backpack! thats right, aside from any original packaging this Voodoo Envy M:172 is complete! the backpack and booklets for specific units are legitimately impossible to find. but yet here they are! my story with this machine in particular isn't that in depth, which is one of the reasons why i've decided to sell on. i got it in already perfect working condition with the book. it fired right up, no worries, just like it does today! but i'm one who really enjoys rebuilding, repairing and restoring old machines like this. i've fixed up voodoo machines that have been on fire, reassembled watercooling loops and did full motherboard replacements in others... but this one just worked. if i had a more personal connection to this machine other than just owning it for 6 years then i'd definitely hang onto it like i do my other voodoo items. but today's your lucky day! i am at least the 3rd owner; i got this in a collection buyout in 2018 from someone in the netherlands. the only sign of this is that in the book, the original owners name is trimmed out. they did a good job though and theres no other damage to the book. given this is a 17 year old laptop there's a couple of tiny nicks in the paint from just age and being transported across the ocean at least once already. if you're good at detailing it should be an easy fix though. functionality wise it seems perfect. it was repasted on both cpu and gpu a couple of years ago and the memory was upgraded to 6gb of ddr2 (4gb+2gb sticks). the display is showing its age, it seems pretty washed out. you can color correct this through nvidia control panel though, or by replacing the screen. the battery works fine, although its not original. if you don't want it, let me know; especially overseas shipments. an original model power supply will be included unless you opt out of it. any sager or clevo m570a, m560a, m57ru or m57tu battery will work for this since the chassis is of the same family. there's no hard drive included in this auction, but in the book you do have the recovery disk to bring it back to factory settings on your own drive! you can request i put in a drive and use the vdrs disc before i ship it out though. bid time is short for the first run; if theres no hits, it will be relisted as buy it now only. any other questions can probably be answered by looking at the pictures. however i am always ready for a good chat about old computers! so if you're bored, send me a message!
