Description: From the estate and personal property of iconic Yankee pitcher and Hall of Famer Lefty Gomez is this vintage signed photograph to he and his celebrity wife June O’Dea, signed “To June & Lefty, Our Sincere Personal Wishes Always, Andrew Sisters.” The original management publicity photograph displays some wear, creases and light trim along the bottom. Judged as one of the best left-handed pitchers during baseball’s Live-Ball Era (1920-1945) Gomez pitched for the Yankees from 1930-1942, winning five World Series with them. An All-Star every year from 1933-1940, Gomez was a 20-game winner four times and in 1934 and 1937 won pitching’s “Triple Crown” leading the league in wins, ERA and strikeouts. (he also led the AL both seasons in shutouts). Pitching in World Series, Gomez won six World Series games without a loss (tied for the AL record).
