Description: Please meet Famke, a large and fabulous Artist Teddy bear wearing a traditional Dutch costume! She doesn't have any tags, and I don't know who made her, but she is a very high-quality bear (if you recognize who the artist is, please let me know). I think she's from the late 1990s or early 2000s. She is made of a thick and curly light brown mohair with long traditional arms and big feet. She has bright brown glass eyes with white sides which give her a sweet look, and she has a black stitched nose and mouth. Her paw pads are the reverse side of the mohair. She wears the most beautiful and complicated outfit, a striped blue and white cotton dress decorated with red rickrack and a flowered ribbon with a cotton lace edge hem. There's a white underskirt that has a red ribbon running through it. She has a velvet navy blue laced vest and striped pants underneath. All her clothing is removable. She is very solidly stuffed. She is five-way jointed and in excellent, pristine condition. (Nice bear!) I do have her white cotton cap that she came with that Dutch girls would wear, but I always preferred her without it, but it will be included in the sale. Famke is 18 inches tall and weighs an impressive 2 pounds, 12 ounces. (Because of her size, I am selling her at a flat shipping rate of $18. It's possible it could be less, and I'll adjust the shipping, but please wait for an invoice.) She is five-way jointed and in excellent, pristine condition. Could she be the one for you?? She is looking for a home where she can enjoy eating fresh fish while strolling your favorite beach town this summer! Please note: I've noticed recently that deliveries both through the US Postal Service and FedEx have been MUCH slower than usual, so don't worry and please be patient!! I know it's very, very frustrating! With regret, I am downsizing my teddy bear collection. I have many different types, which I will be listing in the coming weeks (or months or maybe even years). For now, I am only listing them once to see if anyone is interested, but I may relist them at some point in time in the future. I live in a smoke-free home, but I do have cats who are barred from the bear room and bunny room(!). And I've had to reorganize my listing so I can save all my info, thank you ebay...not. Please note: Upon payment, I ship the next business day. Whenever possible, my items will now be sent out USPS Ground Advantage, which is much less expensive than Priority Mail, but slightly slower, by a day or two. Occasionally I use my personal discounted FedEx account as well for larger, heavier items. If you'd like me to send something Priority, please let me know. With regret, I am downsizing my teddy bear collection. I have many different types, which I will be listing in the coming weeks (or months or maybe even years). For the most part, I relist all the bears that don't get adopted the first time around on the last Saturday of the month. I live in a smoke-free home, but I do have cats who are barred from the bear room and bunny room(!). Names, names, names: If I'm listing an animal crafted by an artist, sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances (don't ask), I do not know his or her proper name. I simply rename them using my own imagination (which is admittedly quite active). This is not a slight to the talented artist who created them or meant to confuse the collector...just a way to give them a bit of personality and to have a little fun! (Feel free to change their name and protect the innocent!) A quick note about shipping: Don't you hate it when you're overcharged by a seller on shipping???? A gazillion dollars to cross the pond or go across the country. It's ridiculous. I am striving to be accurate in my listing, but sometimes ebay's calculator is way off (especially for those outside the U.S.). When i calculate shipping, I add in extra weight for the box. If you're interested in an item outside the U.S., don't be scared by what the calculator is telling you. Please contact me and I'll find out exactly what it would cost to post to your country and make a note in the listing. I'll never overcharge you. If I quote you a number and i can get it to you cheaper, I'll immediately refund the difference. Please note I am not an expert in teddy bears...I am only downsizing. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Please see pictures. They are part of the description. Additional pictures on request. Payment is due within THREE days of auction end. Combined shipping is always available. I only charge actual shipping costs. If it turns out the shipping estimator is wrong above $1, I will refund you the difference. I am willing to ship internationally, but please ask if I post to your country and what it would cost BEFORE you bid, as it could be very expensive. Ebay's calculator can be off either too high or too low! Check out my other teddies that I am listing this week. Thank you for looking at my auction
