Description: Large, Antique Victorian Ornate, Gold Gilt Gesso Wood Picture Frame, 31" x 27", Gesso on dark wood. Gesso decorated featuring floral, foliage, scrolls and dime size holes along the rims (picture 14). Picture Opening measures 24 1/2" x 20 1/2". Gesso loses: 31" bottom (see pictures 3,4,5) 31" top (see pictures 6,7,8) 27" left side (see pictures9,10) right side (see pictures 11,12) The dime size holes may have been man made. During the manufacturing process, gesso frames are often molded or carved. These holes could be part of the original design, created intentionally by the frame maker.
