This merit badge began as Landscape Gardening in 1930 with the landscaped outdoor garden with golden cross and blue sky design. In 1959, the name was shortened to Landscaping. In 1967 the name again changed to Landscape Architecture. In 1969 the design was re-vamped to show an outdoor garden with trellis, evergreens, patio on a yellow sky background, as it remains today.
