L. Bailey # 0 1/2 Adjustable Block Plane pre Stanley

Description: Pre Stanley L. Bailey Victor # 0 1/2 Block Plane This nice, damage free little plane. Leonard Bailey introduced his new line of "Victor Planes" at the 1876 Centennial Exposition. They were well received and his planes sold well. This is the # 0 1/2 ( Zero & 1/2) with the cutter adjuster and no Nickel trim. There is still a good bit of the original Japanning left. The "Victor" planes suffer from a fragil cutter adjuster. Both the block planes and the bench planes use a bolt on cutter adjuster. They are often found without the adjuster or a broken one. This one has a good working adjuster. It is in very good condition with no damage. Stanley bought him out in 1884 and sold the rest of his stock. The casting is a little rough around the mouth but appears to be the casting, not damage. The pictures are a vital part of the description and cover what is not listed here.
