Description: Korg Poly-800 OS 36 EPROM Firmware Upgrade KIT This version 36 is the latest operating system firmware released by Korg for the Poly-800. Included will be 1 new ATMEL EPROM chip, recently manufactured to ensure data integrity well past our natural lifetime. I do not use 35+ year old UV EPROMS that are prone to bit rot, a major cause of data instability with vintage equipment of this era. Keep in mind that the Poly-800 itself is not for sale, only the EPROM upgrade chip will be supplied. Unlike some others, No used or refurbished as “new” components will be supplied. The version 36-firmware upgrade contains several bug fixes, improved stability and finalized system code optimizations. Please remember that this EPROM upgrade is only for the Poly-800, not the Poly-800 MK II or the EX-800 – Send me a message if you happen to need upgrades for them as well. It is best to check what firmware revision your Poly-800 is running before purchasing. If requested - A link will be e-mailed to you with the Poly-800 service manual for your own personal reference. I find this to be quite useful and informative Be sure to take note of the marked orientation notch on the side of the EPROM to ensure correct installation. EPROMS inserted backwards will be destroyed. Incorrect insertion of ICs is also likely to cause damage to the board.
