It is made with high performance, Hydra-Shield, 100% cotton duck canvas. The tight weave and silicone finish make this canvas watertight yet breathable, minimizing condensation and mugginess that are common with synthetic tents. The sewn-in floor is a tough 13.5 oz vinyl with welded seams, that keeps water out. The tall ceiling (7.5 ft. at peak) and vertical wall design (4 ft. at sides) provide a roomy interior with stand-up, walk-around comfort. There are 2 large doors at each end of this huge tent - you don't have to crouch to get through them! Nine large windows provide openness, and excellent ventilation. Windows can be opened and closed from inside the tent, and feature no-see-um, screen mesh that keeps the smallest bugs out. A covered storm window and vents can be opened to circulate outside air, even when rainy. The doors and windows feature top-rated YKK zippers. This design, boasting a frame with 1-inch, galvanized, steel tubing, will hold up to strong winds and even snow loads. A stove jack allows for use of a wood burning stove to keep you warm when temperatures drop. When using the tent without a stove, just zip the stove jack cover closed. The 8x8 ft. enclosed awning accessory (model 1672, sold separately) increases the usable space of your tent, and provides a nice area to get out of the weather or store extra gear and wood. These enclosed awning accessories can be added to either or both ends of this tent. A zippered storage bag and hefty, 12-inch, steel tent stakes are included. Requires two adults for setup. Additional Images Customer Reviews President We ordered the 12x16 Kodiak just before our moose hunt. We were 2hrs from any town and it was the first time ever using a guide tent. The tent arrived on time. We set up Friday night in about a half hour. It rained Saturday and Sunday with temps at night in the upper 30's. The tent stayed dry and was not very crowded for having 4 cots and gear. Nice tent and looking at purchasing the extra cabin to have a dining area in case of rain. Reviewed by: Jeffery Haskell from Bangor. on 11/6/2023 5/5 Kodiak Canvas 12x16 tent This is the best canvas tent i have ever owned. My father had a canvas ten less heavier duty than this and it lasted over 30 years!!! I set this tent up by myself in a half an hour or so. You have to support the main side poles with ropes so it doesn't lisp from one side to the other. After i supported the main poles the rest of the setup was a breeze. The support poles are very heavy duty poles. The only thing i wish it had was some push through rubber grommets to put my propane hose and my cable for my solar panel through. Reviewed by: Lucas Garcea from Wheatfield NY. on 11/6/2023 5/5 Great tent Great tent. Well designed and made with quality materials. Not to hard to set up even though the instructions are not very clear. I would recommend this tent to anyone looking for a tent of this nature. Reviewed by: Wesley Grunow from Hermitage. on 10/31/2023 5/5 Great wall tent for hunting I have used this tent for 13 nights on the deer/elk hunt. I own the flex bow 10x14 and it's a great tent but just not big enough for 4+ people and cots/gear on extended hunting trips. We like to camp in the high country around 9,700 ft in elevation. The roads aren't great where we camp which makes pulling a camp trailer less than ideal. At this elevation heaters like the big buddy heater can have trouble staying lit since they are designed to work below something like 7,500 ft. For these reasons, we see quite a few wall tents where we hunt so this purchase seemed like a good option. I have set this tent up two times. I watched the setup video CEP has here a couple of times and it went pretty smooth. That said, it does take some time and I wouldn't want to set it up in the dark or in the rain/snow. During our stay in this tent, we had rain, snow, and extreme wind. The tent handled these conditions without any issues. The only issue I had was with the stove pipe almost coming off in the extreme wind, I plan to secure the pipe in the future with wire. I paired this tent with the Campchef Alpine stove, which performed great as well. I also purchased a 12x16 tan canvas tarp to put down inside the tent. It's the same color as the vinyl floor and works great at protecting the floor and making cleaning up easy, just fold up the tarp and shake off. I also strung lights down the middle that run off USB. Overall I am very satisfied with this tent. I got many other hunters stopping by our camp asking about it and wanting a tour. I will be using it again in November for a late-season muzzleloader hunt. The tent looks so nice and prestine I hated setting it up, but after a week in the elements it didn't look like it had been touched. Got rained on and the water beaded off like a raincoat. The thing is huge. Perfect size for me and my buddies. 5 stars!!! Reviewed by: Joe from North Carolina. on 9/29/2023 5/5 better than expected This tent is not your grandpa's old army tent. They've come a long way and are so much lighter in weight, but the quality is exceptional. We put this up and love it. Held up great in wind and rain and I can't wait to use it this winter. Reviewed by: Kate from Greensboro, NC. on 9/28/2023 5/5 Amazing I had 11 of my friends in this tent on the beach and it was so great. We often have to bring multiple tents and split up, but not anymore. Held up great. Set up great. A lof of people asked us about the tent since it looks so tough. Next campout is Hanging Rock Park. Reviewed by: Ty from Carolina Beach. on 9/26/2023 5/5 amazing tent very high quality Insane how good of quality this is. Far better than any other tent I've used. I expect this to last for ten to twenty years easy. Putting it up isn't bad at all. It feels very sturdy with all the lead ropes. Please keep in mind that the broker bills you in addition to the freight charge. Answer provided by: Customer Support (11/3/2023) Q: So if we place the tent on a raised platform with airspace of say 12 inches between bottom of framing and the ground - will that give enough air flow to cut down on moisture? Also - how often should we rewater proof the outside and what is the preferred product to use? Asked by: Daniel Strobridge - 10/15/2023 A: You shouldn't have to rewaterproof it for years and years. If you are leaving it out for extended use periods (not recommended) you may have to retreat it yearly. Having the tent on a raised platform should be good for minimizing moisture, but different climates can make it rot if it's constantly wet and touching shrubbery and never seeing sunlight - that's for any canvas product. It sounds like you've got a good setup though minimzing moisture and allowing it to dry. Kiwi Camp Dry non-silicone based is what we recommend. Answer provided by: Customer Support (10/16/2023) Q: Is this tent fire resistant Asked by: Jeff - 10/8/2023 A: The tent is not fire retardant. Answer provided by: Customer Support (10/9/2023) Q: Charlie Really enjoy your reviews. My question is: Is this tent suitable to be left up long term? I have a piece of land that I would love to put this tent on a raised platform for long time. Are there an additional rain fly available? I am interested in the 12x16 with one add on. Thanks Asked by: joe pryor - 8/30/2023 A: Great question. Many people leave these up for months at a time. Some companies rent them out as glamping tents. Officially, they are designed for camping so the warranty won't cover extended use. The biggest threat is constant moisture, humidity, and rot. That can happen if it's set-up in an area where it doesn't dry out daily, but is just constantly wet, especially near the bottom where the floor and wall seam meet. If it is surrounded by grass or shrubbery that doesn't allow that to dry it will eventually rot. So, with that in mind, some people (especially businesses renting them out) leave them up for months at a time and replace them as needed. We had some customers in Hawaii that would put a canopy over them to protect it from long-term uv ray damage and they would often get a full year out of them. All the elements, but especially moisture, factor into how long it would last as a long-term shelter which, again, isn't covered under the warranty.
